A decent sized detached property in a suburb of the most culturally diverse city in the whole of the United Kingdom. My house is brick and we have a brown door and similar thatched windows all around. We have a garage which contains all of my dad’s junk. Our house seems to just be housing my Dad’s EXTREMELY extensive music collection and my mums slight obsession with Bon Jovi..
I don’t think there i much else to know other than on our landing, instead of one light like normal people, we have hundreds of tiny little LED lights that twinkle like stars on the ‘midnight blue’ ceiling.. :)
Well yesterday we met my parents, so I’ll do the rest of the motley crew today ;) haha!!
FIRSTLY! I have my eldest brother Mathew married his now wonderful wife called Ali September 2009. October last year they were blessed with their first child, a baby boy called Jonas!
Then we have my big sister Johanna, who married to a lovely guy called Jay, who to be honest, is like a brother to me now, In October 2010! Jay had a son before he met my sister and so she has a step son, but they are expecting their first baby this year in September!! Woo!!!
And finally, there is another older brother called Adam and he’s sat in the other room gaming and listening to Kanye West… So
I love them both and I can not believe how much they have taught us. They’ve struggled to keep our family and lives together at times yet with everything in their bodies, they thank our God and remain calm in the knowledge that he is strong and powerful. 25 years married, 4 ‘adult’ children, one grandchild with another on the way. Through thick and thin, sickness and health (quiet literally) I look up to them so much.. (more so my dad because he’s 6ft 4) BADUM PSSTT!!! (sorry)
We have been through a lot of tough times, and we’re still going through some at the moment as both of them are in ill health but they are still seeking God. Such amazing role models. Such amazing people.
I do love them so much, I am so blessed to have such awesome parents! Thank You, Lord!
Day 8: If You Could Change Anything About Yourself, What Would It Be?
I would change my perspective. I try and be positive and everything and everyone; I constantly want to see the good and the beauty in people, and myself too, but I sometimes I can’t and I find it really hard. If I was to just change one thing it would be the way I see people and situations. I want to see what God sees; not what the world sees.
Day 7: Choose Lyrics And Explain Why You Chose Them...
He is not mad. His thought is clearer than the saner man.
For in her he saw Beauty overflowing Through the tattered clothes
She was his queen She is a queen
In dreams he Wanders the dark In search of her
ISIS- Dulcinea (from the ‘In The Absence Of Truth album)
-It’s one of my father’s favourite bands and they are responsible for one of the reasons I wanted to learn the drums as well.. This song was going through my head earlier and I was listening to it with him the other day also… I love the lyrics. :)
Gemma. 7/8 years ago, I met this lovely lady… She never ceases to amaze me and encourage me in all areas of my life. She’s always there even when she is going through tough times. She’s everything anyone would want in a friend… She’s perfect to me! I have been so blessed to have her in my life!
That I would learn something new each week.. not something that is useful in a practical sense, however, as that is just too obvious. Instead I chose to learn random things which aid my random knowledge and ability which still astounds most people I meet, for example, my ability to fit 3 protractors in my mouth. This week, I decided I would learn all 50 states of America and which ones surround them, for example if asked Where is Nevada? I should be able to respnd. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED AND COMPLETED!
Yes I am now able to name all 50 states of America (despite the fact I’ve never been there) And why, you hear me ask? Because I can!
Do you have any suggestions of what random intellectual notion I could learn by next Saturday?
Day 3: If You Could Only Have One Wish, What Would It Be?
Wishes? okay.. I’m not really down for ‘wishing’ but I’m not gunna be boring.. :)
I would wish that I had wings/or a private plane :) *that was all free/free fuel etc*
I would fly all around the world and see lots of people and try and help them, and go on holiday too though, of course! And I could visit all my Tumblr friends and real friends who just live far away :P
Day 2: Explain Your Current Relationship Status...
But seeking God because I know that it is the best thing to do! I will seek him and find my happiness in him until he shows me the man I am meant to be with, whether it a year or 10 years from now!
This new year, I made a promise to God that I was going to seek him in everything I do and just lean on him and not on guys… That this year was going to be all about him and developing that relationship… I may be single but I am not willing to give up that title until God sees fit to do so. His will, not mine!
My full name is Leah Alexandra Sheffield, I’m 18 and from a small market town in England called Shrewsbury. I Moved from there when I was 12 to a City called Leicester where I still reside. Even thought I have been here 6 years I still consider myself a girl well intune with the country. I love Jesus and he loves me, even though I know I fail him daily; I got baptized on the 23rd May 2010! I love music and the arts, but my real heart is for the people. I play the guitar and the drums, but neither too well: I need to practice :)
My family is generally of ‘British’ Origin, but I also have ancestry in Spain. English is my first language, however I also know some Japanese and Chinese…
I love my friends immensely as they are forever encouraging and wonderful to me; a true blessing over these past years. I still live at home, aiming for Uni this September as I’m in my last year at college, to study Occupational Therapy. I live with my parents and one of my older brothers, but I also have an older sister who is married and in Wales (expecting a baby! WOO!) And another older brother who lives on the other side of this city with his wife and their newborn baby boy!
